Project Description:

ART CONNECT is a collaborative international project that builds cultural bridges through the creative arts. Students explore and research a traditional art form from their own country, with a special focus on sustainable practices in these traditions. They then connect with peers from a different country to share and learn about each other’s cultures through both visual and performing arts. Together, they co-create a unique artistic expression—such as a mural, dance, or song—that beautifully blends elements from both cultures into one harmonious creation. The project culminates in a virtual exhibition showcasing their collaborative work as a vibrant celebration of multiculturalism and creativity. ART CONNECT also incorporates Creative & Language Arts through its focus on visual art, music, dance, and cultural expression; Social Studies by exploring traditions, heritage, and cross-cultural understanding; and STEM, as students research eco-friendly materials, use digital platforms to collaborate, and produce virtual outputs such as murals or videos.

Project Phases:

Phase 1: Introduction & Cultural Exploration
Duration: 1–2 weeks
Main Activities:
• Introduction to the ART CONNECT project and its goals
• Students research a traditional art form (visual art, dance, or music) from their own country
• Discussion on cultural significance and sustainable practices in traditional arts
Final Outcome:
• Presentations or digital portfolios showcasing students’ own cultural art form
Phase 2: Cross-Cultural Exchange
Duration: 2–3 weeks
Main Activities:
• Connect with partner schools/students from another country
• Share and learn about each other’s traditional art forms via video calls, messages, or collaborative platforms
• Explore similarities and differences in art, culture, and sustainability practices
Final Outcome:
• Cultural exchange journal or media log (photos, videos, reflections)
Phase 3: Co-Creation
Duration: 3–4 weeks
Main Activities:
• In mixed-country teams, students brainstorm and plan a collaborative project
• Co-create a mural, dance, or song that blends elements of both cultures
• Use digital tools (e.g., drawing apps, music software, video editing tools) as needed for collaboration
Final Outcome:
• Final artistic product: mural, choreographed dance, or composed song reflecting cultural fusion
Phase 4: Exhibition & Reflection
Duration: 1–2 weeks
Main Activities:
• Prepare and present the final collaborative art piece
• Organize a virtual exhibition or online showcase
• Students reflect on their learning experience, personal growth, and cultural insights

• Virtual exhibition (video, mural, or performance shared online)
